Meet Dori

dori-facebookHave you ever spent hours lost in a daydream, only to shake out of it and say to yourself, That wasn’t real, you know. (Yeah, me neither.) As a fiction author, it’s my goal to transport you back to your daydreams, with characters facing real-life challenges that allow God through his abundant grace to deliver them to their happily ever afters.

A multiple-award winning article writer, my debut novel, A Christmas Hallelujah, launches my Cranberry Creek series, set in the beautiful Yakima Valley, on the east side of the Cascade Mountains in Washington state. I hope you love Alex, Piper, Libby, and Jake as much as I do. 🙂

I’m blessed to have equal career passions—writing and editing. As a full-time book editor, I’ve edited more than 150 books. Do I read for pleasure? You bet. I make sure I do. To set the mood for writing A Christmas Hallelujah, I read more than a half dozen Christmas novels and novellas—in addition to the near dozen I’ve edited this year alone. If you’re looking for a skilled and experienced book editor, check out my Breakout Editing website.

I graduated from the University of Washington (go Huskies!) and am an avid runner and knitter, though I have yet to figure out how to do both at the same time. I live with my husband, Doug, in the Yakima Valley, and we are Seahawks fans (go Hawks!). We have four kids, and we don’t get to see our seven grandchildren nearly enough.

I would love to hear from you! About my book, knitting, running, life, a prayer request, or your own happily ever after.

May the grace of God be with you!
